Paytm Mall suffers massive data breach as hackers gain 'unrestricted access' into the database: Report
As per the report published on FinancialExpress, Paytm Mall’s ‘entire database’ hacked due to company ‘insider’; and hackers demanded a ransom. The Alibaba Group funded "Paytm Mall" has allegedly suffered a “massive data breach”.The news was first reported by global cybersecurity firm "Cyble". In its report Alleged the known cybercrime group ‘John Wick’ behind gaining unrestricted access to the e-commerce firm’s entire databases. The report also says that the Data Hack “happened due to an insider at Paytm Mall”.
Cyble, an online cyber risk intelligence firm, has claimed that hackers targeted Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led Paytm Mall recently. The report has alleged that a hacker group with the alias ‘John Wick’ was behind to gain unrestricted access to Paytm Mall’s databases. Further, it added that a cyber group demanded ransom after gaining unrestricted full access to the entire databases of Paytm Mall.
However, Payment solutions provider Paytm, Paytm Mall, said it has not found any security lapses yet after investigating claims of a possible hack and data breach.
In an official statement, The Paytm Mall's spokesperson said:
We would like to assure that all user, as well as company data, is completely safe and secure. We have been investigating the claim of a possible hack and data breach, and haven’t found any security lapses yet”.
